There's nothing worse than reaching inside your pantry to find that you have ants crawling all over your peanut butter or inside your favorite bag of chips. If you have ants in your pantry, or you have other pests in your pantry that you didn't invite to be there, then you need to take action to get rid of them. These and other pests can be quite a nuisance, and having them in your food only makes it worse. You have to throw out food that they have been inside, which is a big waste of money, and you have to wipe down everything that they didn't get into to be sure you've gotten them off of your food. Then you need to take other action as well to ensure they are gone. Read on for helpful information.
Wipe Down Your Entire Pantry
Wipe down all of the shelves in your pantry to ensure you have killed all of the pests that you can see and have removed all traces of food or grease that may have gotten onto the shelves. You also need to ensure you have removed any feces from other pests such as mice if you have those in your pantry as well. Wipe down the entire pantry using bleach wipes or soapy water. Wait to put all food back inside until you know that you have gotten rid of your pest problem.
Spray With A Pesticide
Spray the perimeter of the walls inside the pantry with the pesticide and set traps if you suspect you have mice as well. Spray the baseboard if you have one and along the edges of the floor as well. Set the traps and reset them if you find mice in them.
Wipe Down The Pantry Again
Wipe down your pantry again to ensure you have removed traces of any pests that may have gotten into the pantry while you were spraying the interior. Wiping it again will also help make sure that it is safe for food to be stored inside again.
Replace Food
Replace the food inside the pantry, and be sure to place foods that aren't in sealed packaging into an air-tight container. You don't want to waste any more food, and you need to be sure you've gotten rid of your pest problem.
If you have pests invading your pantry, you need to take immediate action. You can also hire a company that offers pest control services to help you.
Hi there, my name is Taylor Stone. Ant problems do not just go away on their own. I thought that keeping my home clean would eliminate ants from the premises after they stopped finding food lying about. Boy was I wrong about that. The ants kept streaming inside the home in tiny lines that caused me great distress. The ants went into my pantry and even tried to go into the fridge. I eventually had to call in pest control experts to remove these critters from the vicinity. I was astonished at how quickly and efficiently the pest control experts worked to resolve this trying problem. They got more done in a few weeks than I could accomplish in a year's time. I hope to share the benefits of hiring a pest control expert immediately upon noticing a problem. Thank you.
